All the Broadway news outlets today carried a press release about Keen Company’s announced 2008-2009… which will feature a stage adaptation of Tarkington’s Beasley’s Christmas Party.  Though the official Keen site has yet to announce the lineup, BroadwayWorld.com describes the play thusly:

Written with the perfect mix of heart and humor, Beasley’s Christmas Party tells the story of a curious journalist and his extremely unusual next door neighbors.  This production, the company’s first holiday offering, runs December 2 – January 3.

Keen artistic director Carl Forsman is reportedly still at work on the script, with four months still to go before rehearsals begin.

I’ll be following reports on this production pretty closely, having written and published my own stage adaptation of Beasley just last year.  At least I can still say I had the idea first!
